A downtown business operator who was a big proponent of the Pedestrian Mall is calling council’s decision to cancel plans for a Holiday Market a “head-scratcher.”
Council announced this week that it will not be going ahead with the Holiday Market—a modified version of the Pedestrian Mall—originally planned for the first two weekends in December.
Peg Norman says it doesn’t make sense. The only thing that has changed between the summer and now is that the province has pulled out of the Atlantic Bubble for two weeks.
Norman says public health advisories and the measures that stores have taken to ensure public safety remain the same.
