A hotel on the west coast is relieved after putting plans in place to shut down due to a potential exposure to COVID-19.
The Hew and Draw Hotel in Corner Brook made a clarification post on the company’s Facebook feed late Wednesday after it was thought that a person who was COVID-positive had visited the business.
The post outlines how hotel employees were informed that a person who had tested positive for the virus visited the establishment on Monday, November 23rd.
Hotel management immediately began putting a plan in motion to close their doors in an effort to curb further spread. However, upon investigation, the claim was found to be incorrect.
The Facebook update indicates the information has been confirmed to be false by provincial public health officials.
The author of the post says getting word of a possible case was “not easy” but they remain committed to serving the public at a safe distance.
