The provincial government is providing more than $100,000 to help two local start-up tech firms further their research and development.
Averro Robotics and Technology, which develops robots to help conduct industrial testing, inspection and certification, received $92,850.
The company created a guywire robot known as “Rudy” that allows testing on towers and gas flare stacks without the need to climb or access them with ropes. It’s the world’s first guywire robot capable of climbing and maintaining lubricated guywires.
Meanwhile, totaliQ Technology received $16,500 to incorporate an artificial intelligence project-planning feature into its existing software platform. The company provides an expertise management platform for large engineering and construction firms.
Both companies are part of the Genesis Centre’s enterprise incubator program at MUN’s Signal Hill Campus.
