The Viking Trail Tourism Association will expand their horizons thanks to new funding from the Provincial Government.
Premier Andrew Furey has announced $70,000 of federal money for the Viking Trail Tourism Association’s Hospitality Research and Planning Project.
The project aims to boost tourism on the Great Northern Peninsula as the region looks toward making a post-pandemic recovery.
The Association is hiring a planning officer who will be tasked with drafting a three-year strategic plan to outline the next steps while maximizing opportunities.
The strategy will encompass a wide variety of actions and initiatives including new tourism promotions, recruitment, retention and public engagement.
