Bird experts suspect that a small flock of Bohemian waxwings found dead on the pavement in Churchill Square may have been startled by a predator.
Jamil Hussein owns NJ’s Kitchen and noticed the birds after hearing a bang while opening up for the day.
When he went outside to investigate, he discovered the birds scattered about the parking lot.
Bird watchers have been sharing pictures of large flocks of Bohemian waxwings that have moved into the northeast Avalon area in recent weeks.
Some speculate that a predator, like a hawk, may have startled and chased the birds, causing them to strike the building.
