A 53-year-old Corner Brook man is facing charges after barricading himself inside a home on Sunday.

Just after 8 p.m. last night, RNC responded to a disturbance in progress at a home in the Westside area of Corner Brook.

The man had barricaded himself inside the home, but police were able to gain entry and arrest the suspect shortly after, without incident.

The 53-year-old man was charged with assault and mischief to property. He remains in custody and will appear in court today.

The victim—a woman—suffered minor injuries.
