A woman was treated in hospital for minor injuries following a fire on Empire Avenue in St. John’s last night.
The fire broke out around 6 p.m. in the kitchen of an apartment in a two-storey house.
The woman suffered minor smoke inhalation and was given a temporary place to stay, as well as clothing, food and other essentials by the Canadian Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
