The East Coast Music Awards are going to be a virtual event again this year given the COVID situation in Nova Scotia. Local musicians are okay with that as our Atlantic neighbor is having a tough time with dozens of new cases daily.
On Friday the East Coast Music Association announced their plans to move all in-person events online.
Country Musician, Justin Fancy of Conception Bay South, up for the Inspirational Album of the Year, had a hotel booked and had laid all the plans for a big week. His first appearance at the ECMAs will now be virtual – but he’s making the most of it.
He says it’s unfortunate but that’s the world we now live in. He intends to make the most of the virtual performance.
Stingray radio in this province is up for three ECMA awards. VOCM, along with its sister-station KIXX Country, is nominated in the Media Outlet of the Year category, while VOCM’s Greg Smith is up for Media Person of the Year.
The awards will be handed out during East Coast Music Week May 5th – 9th.
