A man from Nunavut who’s accused of killing another man on Roaches Line in late June will apply for bail this morning.
30-year-old Patrick Sulurayok is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident on the night of June 22.
Police were called around 9 p.m. after reports of an unresponsive man. The victim was rushed to hospital in Carbonear but died a short time later.
RCMP would only say the fatal altercation occurred at a “commercial accommodation.”
Sulurayok’s lawyer Bob Buckingham will make the case for bail in Supreme Court at 11 a.m.
It’s believed the accused and the victim were known to each other.
