The federal government is announcing $15-million for long-term care homes in the province.
Federal Minister of Health Patty Hajdu announced $15-million towards the improvement of long term care homes in the province today at Saint Luke’s Home in St. John’s.
The money is being given to the province to make improvements in the areas they deem necessary.
Provincial Health Minister John Haggie and Premier Andrew Furey highlighted ventilation, protection and loneliness as trouble areas.
Increased staffing was a focus of the announcement, with the province looking to address how much face time residents get with staff.
