Registered sex offender Matthew Twyne will spend at least another week in custody.
Twyne was arrested last Sunday in Mount Pearl, accused of failing to obey court orders to stay away from places where kids under 16 are known to be, such as playgrounds and swimming pools.
The 35-year-old has more than 100 convictions on his record for exposing himself to women and children, as well as other offences including assault, thefts and repeated breaches of court conditions.
Twyne’s case was one of more than a dozen involving people in custody that had to be postponed this week due to the Regatta holiday, subsequent procedural delays and other delays due to the pandemic.
Twyne’s bail hearing has now been scheduled for August 12.
