A commercial retail outlet in Stephenville went up in flames yesterday afternoon, resulting in heavy damage to the steel building.

The fire resulted in the closure of the highway ramp for several hours last evening, but traffic is flowing freely today.

Salt Life Marine and Industrial Supplies is located on Carolina Avenue.

A building behind the fire structure was saved but it appears that the industrial outlet was gutted.

Firefighters are still on the scene watching for hot spots.
