The province is drawing closer to another major milestone of its vaccination rollout. Close to 70 per cent of eligible residents have received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. That’s approaching the provincial government’s initial goal of having 80 per cent of residents fully vaccinated by mid-September.
Of the province’s roughly 483,000 eligible residents, over 85 per cent have received their first dose.
Anyone interested in scheduling a vaccination appointment is encouraged to visit the provincial government’s website to book online or by telephone.
Meanwhile, another live provincial COVID-19 briefing is taking place this afternoon.
Health Minister John Haggie and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald will be in attendance.
As of the last update on Monday, there were nine active cases in the province and one hospitalization.
The live update is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. VOCM will carry it in its entirety.
