One person was taken to hospital following a single vehicle crash in the east end of St. John’s on Wednesday evening.

First responders were called to the area of Stavanger Drive near Snow’s lane after the vehicle left the road and crashed into a stream.

The driver was checked by paramedics and taken to hospital for observation, with what were believed to be minor injuries.

Environmental officials were also called in to assess the scene as fluids were seen leaking into the stream.

Tow crews were then contacted to extract the vehicle from the ditch.
