The Nunatsiavut Government is partnering with Labrador-Grenfell Health to secure more scheduled medical flights for the north coast of Labrador.
The health authority will provide two extra scheduled medical flights per week until the end of December thanks to funding from the Nunatsiavut Government’s allocation from the COVID-19 Indigenous Community Support Fund.
There is a hope that the extra flights could be extended to the end of March.
Nunatsiavut President Johannes Lampe says the extra flights will result in less time for people to be away from their homes and families and reduce the cost of accommodations while attending medical appointments and treatment.
