Details surrounding the enforcement of the province’s new mandatory vaccination policy is expected in the near future.
Premier Andrew Furey announced Friday that all public sector employees, as well as any employees of businesses that work with vulnerable populations or use the NLVaxPass, are required to be fully vaccinated by December 17.
Government says there will be regulations regarding penalties for private businesses that qualify, however that process is not yet finalized.
Deputy Premier Siobhan Coady says businesses will have to provide some form of proof that their employees are vaccinated.
She says they will have to present some form of VaxPass documentation that ensures all the regulations are followed.
Minister of Health, Dr. John Haggie, says those regulations, as well as specific penalties, will be outlined in the coming days.
