The president of the Registered Nurses Union says most of their members support mandatory vaccines for public sector workers with very little opposition to the policy.
Yvette Coffey says the RNU supports science-based principles which are behind the vaccine mandate.
She says the science indicates that once all residents are vaccinated the transmission of the Delta variant will be decreased and the number of admissions will also be decreased, taking added strain off an already strained health care system.
Coffey says government has indicated it will do everything it can to accommodate those unwilling or unable to get a vaccine. She says the word “termination” has not been used in government’s policy.
