The businessman largely responsible for the creation of Manuels as the downtown business hub of Conception Bay South has passed away.

Villa Nova Plaza has expanded several times since its inception with his anchor business Home Hardware. The retail and commercial footprint all around the plaza has expanded considerably over the past couple of decades.

Clarence Morgan of Kelligrews kickstarted the commercial development of the main commercial area of CBS with the opening of the plaza. The Morgan’s also owned Admirals Coast Retirement Centre, Heritage Square Retirement, public health buildings at Major’s Path, CBS, Holyrood and Placentia, a car lot in Kelligrews and real estate throughout Conception Bay South and beyond.

There will be a private service by invitation only. Clarence Morgan was 81.
