A young man arrested in connection with a series of recent shootings in the metro region will remain behind bars at least until Tuesday.
20-year-old Robert Belbin is so far the only person charged in relation to the incidents, which the RNC says are connected.
They say the current violence dates back to May 13 in Galway, and involves a criminal network operating in the region.
The incidents also included an early-morning stabbing on George Street, followed by gunfire on a Paradise street, leaving two men injured.
Gunfire at a Thorburn Road apartment building this week and the firebombing of a house and more gunfire are also believed to be connected.
Belbin faces charges of aggravated assault and robbery with violence.
He’s due back in court on Tuesday.
