The city of St. John’s is considering an application from Stella’s Circle to develop a transition house on Military Road.

The application in question is to redevelop a building across the street from Government House.

The organization wants to put 15 rooms, seven offices, common rooms, washrooms, and a kitchen in the building. To do this, they wish to expand the building at the rear.

The application will be heard at Monday’s regular council meeting. It’s recommended that the city approve the application in principle, given that numerous conditions are met—mostly related to zoning and development requirements.

As the building is located in a heritage zone, the heritage by-law would apply to any exterior work.
