The provincial government is speaking to the public on the barriers to foreign qualification recognition in the province.
A round of public consultations has been launched to see how the province can improve on allowing newcomers with qualifications as doctors, nurses, teachers, and other professions to practice in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Government is looking to remove obstacles immigrants with proper qualifications face in being able to practice to help address shortages in the healthcare system.
They are looking to hear from foreign-trained individuals, provincial occupational regulatory bodies, educational institutions, Indigenous governments, and municipalities through an engagement session. Online consultations are open to the public on engageNL.
