A local man is gearing up to run in this year’s Tely 10, and he’s doing it in support of Lupus Newfoundland and Labrador.
Miguel Jones is an adoptee from Vietnam and did most of his growing up in Corner Brook.
Recently he started a blog called Miguel’s World, which focuses on things such as his experiences with racism and coping with the autoimmune disease Lupus.
Jones says his partner, Shaelynn volunteered with last year’s Tely 10 and she brought up the idea of them entering this year’s event as a team.
Jones says he noticed many people who run in things such as marathons do so for a cause, and as a Lupus patient, he got the idea to do their run in support of Lupus Newfoundland and Labrador.
He says they are doing the fundraiser through Go Fund Me, and all proceeds will go directly to Lupus NL.
