The Town of Hants Harbour in Trinity Bay is hosting numerous festivities this weekend to coincide with Come Home Year.
Organization committee Member Andy Jones says things kicked off yesterday with opening ceremonies, a puppet show, and a concert by Ray Johnson of Buddy Wasisname fame at the Lion’s Club.
Festivities today include the reading of a play detailing the history of the town at 7:00 p.m., and a Kubasonics concert at 9:00 p.m., both at the Lion’s Club.
Tomorrow an open house is being held, and Jones says a special ceremony will be taking place at the graveyard.
He says a ceremony will be taking place at 11:00 a.m. to honour the men who died at sea off Trinity Bay in 1857.
