More than 4,700 patients have passed through the doors of Eastern Health’s new clinic on Mundy Pond Road since it opened in January of 2022.

The clinic, which is staffed by a rotating team of health care professionals including family doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and LPNs, sees an average of about 40 patients per day.

It operates from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and again from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

This summer a number of images of long lineups winding around the building were posted to social media.

Eastern Health acknowledges that demand has been so great that not all patients have been able to be accommodated during the clinic’s hours.

The health authority says it is evaluating services and additional staff will be joining the clinic this fall to improve capacity and booking options to help reduce lineups outside the clinic.
