The lawyer for a Corner Brook man charged with second-degree murder says he’d like to pursue bail for his client.
But Robbie Ash says he can’t do that before receiving all of the disclosure, or Crown evidence, against Blair Walsh.
The 48-year-old Walsh is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 63-year-old man on the night of March 28.
The victim was found with serious injuries outside an apartment building on Wheeler’s Road.
Police believe he died from injuries sustained during some kind of physical altercation with the accused.
Ash said he did receive some evidence from the Crown, but nothing since the last court appearance two weeks ago.
Court was told today that it could be another five to seven weeks before all of the evidence is received and reviewed.
That means the accused will remain in custody at least until the case is called again on June 6.
