A woman originally from this province is expressing her gratitude after receiving an overwhelming amount of help after taking to social media looking to replace a forgotten item.
Krystal Manual’s 7-year-old daughter arrived in St. John’s on a flight from Edmonton to visit her grandparents, hoping to perform a highland dance routine for them one last time.
Highland dance requires a special shoe, known as ghillies, which Manual had forgot to pack in her daughter’s suitcase.
A quick Google search revealed there were no local businesses that sold these shoes, so she decided to take to Facebook to see if anyone in the area had a pair she could borrow.
Manual says the public responded in a big way.
She received nearly 400 messages from people across Canada who offered to ship the shoes with airline passengers flying to St. John’s or send them along with a trucker.
In the end, she did find a pair of ghillies for her daughter and is thanking everyone who offered to help in the search.
