A Corner Brook man has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.
48-year-old Blair Walsh was originally charged with aggravated assault following an altercation with another man on the night of March 28th.
The 59-year-old victim was found with serious injuries at an apartment building on Wheeler’s Road.
But the man later died of those injuries, leading to the upgraded charge of second-degree murder.
Walsh appeared in Corner Brook provincial court by phone this afternoon from HMP, and elected trial by Supreme Court judge and jury if there’s enough evidence to go to trial.
That’ll be determined during the preliminary inquiry.
Dates for that, as well as the status of disclosure from the Crown, will be hashed out when the case is called again on July 5.
