Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services says renovations at the hospital in St. Anthony are now complete, opening up eight new long-term care beds at the facility.
The new unit, called Partridgeberry Path, is on the top floor of the Dr. Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, and is an expansion of the nearby long-term care facility.
As of last week, all beds have been assigned to people who were waiting on them.
A team of RNs, LPNs, and PCAs are on hand to provide care to those on the unit.
Antionette Cabot, VP and Chief Operations Officer for Labrador-Grenfell Zone says the renovations and enhancements will help them better serve changing needs and provide quality care to patients.
