The federal government is not straying from its messaging on clean fuel regulations, despite yet another letter from Premier Andrew Furey asking for them to be paused.
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland was in the province yesterday to tour Pattern Energy’s hydrogen production and export facility.
While there, Freeland was questioned about the Premier’s latest letter to the Prime Minister, which was sent about two weeks ago.
She says she takes the concerns she’s hearing from Furey and residents “very seriously.”
Freeland acknowledges that the cost of living is a real concern in the province, but asserts that the climate action incentive payments do make a difference.
