People are being invited to a rally at Colonial Building in St. John’s tomorrow to stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The family-friendly event is being organized by First Voice and its partners.
Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 as a grassroots campaign in Williams Lake, BC to promote public awareness about the harm caused through the residential schools system across the country.
Executive Director of First Light Friendship Centre, Stacey Howse says the Rally for Reconciliations is an opportunity for the public to show support for residential school survivors and their families.
The event gets underway tomorrow at 2:45.
