The RNC dealt with a rash of impaired drivers across the province late Saturday night and Sunday morning.
On the Avalon, a 40-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving at 11:21 pm, while four other drivers – a 58-year-old, 29-year-old male, 44-year-old male and 28-year old male – were pulled over, suspected of impaired driving, issued warnings and had their vehicles impounded between the hours of 9:30 pm and 2:45 am.
On the west coast, two incidents involving alcohol resulted in the arrests of a 19-year-old male and 26-year-old female.
At 1:21 am the RNC responded to a call that a male had been struck in the head and required medical attention. The injured male, 19, was on a release order with curfew and alcohol and consumption conditions. He was treated at the local hospital, was arrested once released, and charged with two counts of breach of release order.
At 2:18 am the RNC arrested a 26-year-old female in the Broadway Crescent Area of Corner Brook, who was charged with impaired driving.
In a separate incident, A 41-year-old male was arrested in Corner Brook this morning following a traffic stop in the Broadway Crescent Area.
The unnamed male, who was being investigated for another incident, was arrested at 240 am, at which time he injured the hand of the arresting officer.
He was charged with public mischief in relation to the unrelated investigation and two counts of breach of
release order and held for court later in the day
