The mayor of Corner Brook is optimistic that the Kruger Mill has a prosperous future despite a week-long shutdown.
Production at the mill got back underway on Monday, something that has locals breathing a sigh of relief says mayor Jim Parsons.

Parsons says an unexpected hiatus like that is enough to make one feel uneasy, but he doesn’t see it as the beginning of the end.
Parsons says they’re in a good situation with the mill. He says they have a good fibre supply paired with a solid workforce. The mill has many advantages in Corner Brook and Parsons believes there is potential to make the mill more diverse heading into the future.
