Residents of the province will soon be able to access some medical records digitally.
MyHealthNL will launch for some 5,000 residents of the province on February 1, with more people getting access as the months go on.
People who are at least 16 years old, have an active MCP, and who have a photo ID, will have access to various medical records including lab results, radiology reports, dispensed medications, and allergies.
As well, people can access mental health and health information resources.
Access to lab results, excluding pathology, will be delayed by 7 days, while access to medical imaging reports -limited to general radiology- will be delayed by 2 weeks.
MyHealthNL will be web-based and can be accessed on various devices.
An app is also being developed, with the goal of releasing it in the spring. It will provide some additional services, such as scheduling appointments with NL Health Services, family care clinics, and participating physicians.
