The capital city is inviting public input for its crime and violence prevention strategy.
The federal government is providing a grant of up to $1.83 million dollars to the city by March of 2026 for the development of a crime and violence prevention strategy in collaboration with the community.
The primary focus is on the causes of violence and crime and addressing the social determinants with long-term strategic planning and concrete action.
The public is welcome to provide feedback online, through the Engage St. John’s website, or by attending a variety of in-person or virtual public meetings.
· Tuesday, March 5: 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Virtual via Zoom
· Thursday, March 7: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – St. John’s Farmer’s Market, 245 Freshwater Road
· Tuesday, March 26: 6:30 to 8 p.m. – Foran Greene Room, City Hall
Feedback will be received until March 28, 2024.
