Retired professional curling champion Brad Gushue has been hired to lead elite athlete programs in the United States with USA Curling.
The organization has named Gushue as its High Performance Director ahead of the 2034 Home Games in Salt Lake City.
Gushue, who has Olympic gold and bronze medals under his belt, a world men’s title, and 18 Grand Slam of Curling victories, is a seven time Canadian national champion.
Gushue will oversee USA Curling’s high-performance strategy, athlete development pathways and national team operations.
The St. John’s native calls his next chapter a “natural fit” and admits that “positions like this don’t come along all that often in the sport of curling.”
Former teammate Mark Nichols recently announced that he will be joining Matt Dunstone’s Manitoba rink.
