The pool at the Mews Centre in St. John’s will remain closed until early next week due to mechanical issues.
Staff are waiting for the arrival of parts to fix the pool’s main air handling unit.
The closure affects the pool, steam room and sauna at the aging facility.
Meanwhile, completion of the new 60,000-square-foot Mews Centre, off nearby Blackler Avenue, has been delayed again.

The centre was due to open last fall but was pushed back to late spring of this year.
But in an update provided by the city to VOCM News today, officials now say it’s been delayed again, until some time this summer.
They blame the latest delay on shortages of workers and construction materials.
The new Mews centre will mirror the Paul Reynolds Centre in the east end of the city, featuring a larger indoor pool, gymnasium and recently added walking track.
