The Chamber of Commerce which takes in the greater St. Anthony area has enjoyed a productive year, reporting an increase of more than 100 per cent in membership.
The Great Northern Chamber of Commerce is expanding their coverage area to include River of Ponds. Sam Woodford, Chamber coordinator, says membership has grown to 115. President Christopher Mitchelmore says they established their business awards program as an opportunity to thank and recognize all their businesses.
The Big Dreamer Award went to Lightkeepers Cafe and Great Viking Feast, the Community Impact Award goes to Tuckamore lodge, Gloria Lawless of St. Barbe Consumer’s Co-op Society is the outstanding employee, Rebel Coffee House is the New Business of the Year, Burden’s General Store/Castle Building Supplies receives the Business Excellence Award, and the Chamber’s Choice Award goes to Paul Dunphy, formerly of Anthony’s Insurance.
