A few blasts from old man winter are enough to make Atlantic Canadians trade their shovels for sandals and head to sunny southern destinations.
Director of Social Responsibility and Advocacy with CAA Atlantic, Julia Kent, says things were a little slow in January when winter was on the mild side, but once February hit, vacation bookings shot up “through the roof”.
Kent says there’s no doubt about it that travel numbers have exceeded pre-COVID levels.
She says concerns over cruise ships being super spreaders have diminished and bookings for cruise packages have become especially popular for those looking to go down south.
