A Grand Falls-Windsor man has been charged with trafficking cocaine and heroin after he was pulled over earlier this week.
The RCMP say 55-year-old Florent Gaouette was pulled over at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon for driving a car that was unroadworthy and uninsured.
They say the man provided them with a fake name, but once his real identity was confirmed they discovered that an active warrant was out for his arrest.
Officers observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and a later search turned up a quantity of cocaine and half-a-kilogram of suspected heroin.
Gaouette appeared in court today on charges related to trafficking and possession of heroin and cocaine, as well as obstructing a peace officer, two counts of failing to comply with release orders, and failing to comply with his probation.
