There has been a major development in the refurbishment of the National War Memorial downtown St. John’s and installation of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The tomb was hoisted from a flatbed and lowered onto the site. Work will continue to complete the project with the objective of having it ready for July 1st Memorial Day activities.
The original contract for the creation of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was terminated late last year when Ocean Floor Granite of Bishops Falls ran into trouble at his work site.
Heritage Memorials was then chosen as the sub-contractor to complete the work
