Two government events are scheduled for today in the health and arts sectors.
First up, Premier Andrew Furey will take in the official opening of College of the North Atlantic’s new Centre for Television and Film in St. John’s.
Plans for the facility, in the former Brinton Memorial school on Strawberry Marsh Road, were first announced in 2022.
The centre will also be formally named at this morning’s event, which is set for 10 a.m.
Later, over the lunch hour, the province will provide an update on the implementation of recommendations from Health Accord NL.
Health Minister John Hogan, Housing and Mental Health Minister John Abbott, Deputy Minister of Health Transformation, Pat Parfrey, and interim CEO of NL Health Services, Karen Stone, are expected to be in attendance.
The news conference will take place at MUN’s Faculty of Medicine on the St. John’s campus.
And VOCM News will be there.
