The summer of 2024 was another tough season for tourists and visitors trying to book a rental vehicle.
It’s the age-old lament of tourism operators in the province who fear that the limited rental vehicle availability is having an impact on bookings and the bottom line.
Julia Kent of CAA said the situation is bad across the Atlantic region, but even worse in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“Rental companies aren’t keen to bring huge fleets of vehicles over here only not to have any use for them in the off season.”
Kent said CAA travel agents urge visitors to book their rental vehicles at the same time as they book their tickets.
