Canada is striking back against punishing US tariffs with a long list of 25 per cent tariffs on American goods coming into Canada.
US President Donald Trump triggered a full-on trade war with Canada – its largest trade partner – effective this coming Tuesday.
Canada struck back with force, announcing its own retaliatory measures last night.

Canadians are being encouraged to read labels and support Canadian workers and industry where they can, but the bottom-line is that all consumers will feel the hit with higher prices on either side of the border.

So how do you know if you’re buying “Canadian?”
It’s a complex matter. If the item is stamped “Product of Canada” then the contents within are virtually all obtained in this country and it is manufactured here. However, if the item is stamped “Made in Canada” then the local content could be as low as about half.
