The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a young person following the death of a dog in Pasadena.
The RNC first received a report in October of last year that a dog had gone missing from a home in the town. The dog was later located deceased.
Earlier this week, the young person was arrested and is facing three charges:
- Theft under $5,000.
- Willfully and without lawful excuses kills, maims, wounds, poisons or injures a dog, birds or animals that are kept for a lawful purpose.
- Willfully causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal.
The accused has been released to appear in court at a later date.
