Canada Post is calling on the federal Minister of Labour to order a vote on its latest offer.
The corporation sweetened the pot a few days ago by offering a $1,000 signing bonus for its 55,000 employees. However, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has declined to send the offer to its membership for a vote.
A strike deadline just over a week ago has come and gone without a work stoppage, but the union is refusing to work overtime, a situation which could result in delays in mail and package delivery.
