The NDP wants the province to provide a public update on a six-year contract with a U.S. based company focused on addressing worker burnout and scheduling issues in the health care system.
Government paid Change Healthcare $3 million up-front when the contract was awarded in 2021, but the company stood to earn as much as $35 million in financial incentives based on savings found in the system.
That immediately drew the ire of unions representing workers in the health care system who said the contract incentivized cost-cutting measures.
NDP Leader Jim Dinn is calling on the provincial government to update the public on what results, if any, were identified over the last four years.
An ATIPP request shows that Change Healthcare has been paid an additional $3.2 million since 2022. He wants to know where that money came from, and what it was spent on.
