The search for an autistic child missing on Random Island ended happily on the weekend – now the community is gathering its resources to help the family build a fence to allow Adalyn Skinner to explore the outdoors safely.
The eight-year-old girl ran into the woods near Weybridge last Friday afternoon. It was the following day before she was finally located – wet and covered in fly bites, but otherwise fine.
Victoria Lethbridge has launched a GoFundMe account to raise money for the cost of a fenced area that will allow Adalyn to explore nature and enjoy the outdoors safely.
Lethbridge says, ideally, the space would include a fenced-in yard, pavement for Adalyn to do her chalk drawings, an outdoor garden, a water play area, and sensory friendly equipment.
