A teen is facing a long list of charges and tickets after a dirt bike was seen speeding along Sebastian Drive in Bonavista Saturday evening.
RCMP located the dirt bike at the intersection of Coster Street and Confederation Drive and attempted to pull it over, but the bike continued down Confederation Drive, passed a vehicle on a solid line and drove through a sign without stopping before turning off into a residential area and onto a local trail.
The bike was found a short time later on Chard’s Hill where it drove into an open marsh and stalled.
The driver, who was trying to walk the bike out, was arrested.
He’s facing a number of charges including failing to stop at a stop sign, failing to stop for a police officer and crossing a solid line.
He was also issued a series of tickets for:
Operating an uninsured offroad vehicle
Operating an unregistered offroad vehicle
Operating an offroad vehicle without an attached licence plate
Operating an offroad vehicle without reasonable consideration for other persons or property
Operating an offroad vehicle on a roadway
Operating an offroad vehicle without a driver’s licence or supervision
