A murder trial scheduled to start tomorrow in Corner Brook Supreme Court has been postponed until late next year.
Fifty-one-year-old Blair Walsh is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 59-year-old Bert Webster.
He was found with serious injuries outside an entrance to the Corner Brook Suites apartment building on Wheeler’s Road, where both men were living, on March 28, 2023.
It’s alleged they got into some kind of altercation that left Webster fighting for his life, a battle he lost a short time later in hospital.
Walsh pleaded not guilty and 12 days were set aside for a jury trial in Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court, which was scheduled to start tomorrow morning.
However, the case was called earlier this week, at which time the trial was postponed and rescheduled for more than a year from now, in September of 2026.
