The RCMP is crediting police dog Marlow with helping to catch a break and enter suspect in Upper Amherst Cove yesterday.
Police were called just before 6 p.m. to a break and enter in progress at a cabin on Old Country Road after the owner of the property noticed the situation on a security camera.
After reviewing the footage, police identified 48-year-old Irving William Power as the suspect.
As Marlow and her handler were heading to the scene, they noticed Power walking along Old Country Road and arrested him without incident.
Police say the duo were then able to track Power’s scent back to the cabin.
The accused appeared in court today on charges of break and enter and breach of probation.
